a few hours till 2008 is history!
i am never a big fan of the old year - new year thing, but since 2008 is ending and never coming back, i shall be polite and write a good-bye note to 2008, a not so happening yet memorable year.
january
cca exhibition during j1 orientation: made many many floats and walked around the badminton hall many many rounds and was extremely exxx to attract j1s to join lifeguards! many of them put down their names in the sign-up list, but only a small proportion actually turned up for trainings. those who did made the right decision!
dew or no deal: to raise fund for funOrama! we made a few hundred pieces of honey cornflakes and a few dozen cups of honeydew sago coconut milk thingy! we made $300-400 i think!

february
labrador park (which was mistaken for sentosa by someone) outing: the bus ride was hilarious! (do you guys still remember?) although the "photo hunt" didnt turn out as planned due to the lack of double sided tape and blu tack, we still had great fun as we walked down the loooong flight of wooden stairs and later on as we ate, played taboo, played frisbee and camwhored!

bm test: my timing was 3:00 and that was my first time meeting the 3:15 requirement! since that day, we had all become official lifeguards and as a tradition, we went to dover market to celebrate our achievements! haha dover market - how i miss that place!

march
lifeguards camp: i was taking timings during the first two days of camp due to some reasons and it was way worse than having to train! swam and towed lap after lap for the last days and finally ice skating and sky of love on the last day! although it wasnt an overnight camp as we always wanted, we still had great time as a cca!

nono's birthday present: WORST birthday present that i've ever given anyone! up till now, i am still sorry for having given you such a gift! haha i think i was out of my mind at that time!
one day before funOrama: argh someone made me delete that message and i did! :(
funOrama: my first time to a funOrama! it was hot and crowded and then wet and dirty but overall funOrama-ish! i had the chance to meet my old friends whom otherwise i wouldnt be able to meet. oh and the queues for all the haunted houses were so very long! i went into one of them with fishy, sock and penguin and almost went into another one with lifeguards! and i bought a lot of I heart AC stuff! :D

april
buffet lunch at shangrila: we didnt eat much (amazingly!). most of the time, we were just walking around or camwhoring at our table or in the toilet! :D took a couple of funny shots with ha, quynh, trang, szeching and joah.

swim meet: my first time taking part in a swimming competition and lifeguard-ing! being a lifeguard wasnt as easy as i thought! ;( it was sunny and hot and boring! but at least no one drowned so i didnt have to show off any lifesaving skills!

may
enCOre: i had never been into a chinese orchestra concert before and it was better than i had expected! our seats were so near to the stage and we were so close to daniel! :D

glissando: "go chinbunchorn!" i cant remember how many times we shouted this throughout the entire night! the cpa was cool and acjc guitar deserved to be the first performing arts group to perform there!

june
nus lifesaving championships: acjc lifeguards - one team, one heart, one goal! yes we were the blackest, happiest, noisiest, most scandalous, most united, etc team there and i was just so proud of being a member of the team! although we didnt win anything, it was a great experience and the best part of it was the fact that coach, jeremy, rachel, jiajun, jovia, yiting, raymond, jipeng, oriana, meiqi, quynh, phuong, perlin, joelynn, genevieve, weiyi, neville, wayne, xueyuan, ellie, janice, kahlok, jiajun, nick, zhiyong, xiaoyang, cheryl, huihiu and the juniors were together as one!

july
lifeguards thanksgiving dinner: thanksgiving dinner was actually just an excuse! the dinner was actually jiajun's and rachel's engagement party! :D great food, great place and great people! what more could i ever ask for?

august
the twilight: although it was so near to prelims (not!) but since it was our last asean dance, we all still decided to go! however, most of the time, we were at the hotel lobby camwhoring or out having supper or sight seeing along singapore river instead of being in the ball room! all the slow and fast dances were so for the young and innocent! we adults were too mature for that!
prelims: i know for sure that my prelims were in august but somehow i dont have any memories of it! :( my results were much better than i expected. i just hope i'll get the same results for As!
september
19th: the dinner with sb4 at marche wasnt planned. we all were just together before that so we decided to go for dinner! birthday party at the newly renovated garden (!) anyways lets not talk about this! it just makes me feel old! x(
october
baccalaureate: i was surprised at how fast time passed by! it felt like yesterday when i first came into acjc on 03Jan07! the 2 years here left me with a lot of memories, both good and bad. i'd grown to be a much different person from who i used to be before i came to acjc. i'd met many people, some of who would be friends for life, some would just be random people whose paths crossed mine. i'd learnt many things which would be with me forever.
masquerade: the theme was exactly the same as that of asean dance 2 years ago! hmph copycat! dinner wasnt that great (its not like we expected a great dinner anyways!), but post-dinner was awesome! some of us went wild, we did crazy things, we started a new trend, we took like 500-600 photos in one night and not many of them were with the masks!
november
A levels: oh A levels were over? wow i just realised that! the papers somehow were harder than prelims but no point thinking about that now. whats done is over. just wait till Mar09 and see how well i did! AAAAC?
last dinner: no tears shed, no hugs, no kisses. it was just a normal dinner filled with board games (since we had dinner at settlers cafe!). i had to leave early for class chalet, so i couldnt join them for some fun after dinner.
class chalet: i forgot to bring my camera so i didnt take any photo during the chalet! :( it was a good occasion for everyone in the class to stay together in one place and just enjoy ourselves without having to worry about anything! i couldnt stay for the whole 4 days and 3 nights and i had cramps on the first and second days there so i just lied down in bed most of the time. anyways i am sure the rest of sb4 had fun! :D
zoo and other random adventures with baby bear: my last visit to the zoo was so looooong ago that i couldnt recall any memory of it! :( in the zoo, i liked the white tigers the most, although one of them ate a guy a few days before my visit! since we came a bit late, we didnt get to see the sun bears and some other animals and baby bear was so sad! haha lets go there another time! (: besides the trip to singapore zoological garden (is that the full name of the zoo?), we had other random trips to discover places with nice food and stuff. thanks baby bear! i miss outram and commonwealth! ;(

december
glitterati: seniors night was just like any other prom. there were people nicely dressed up, food, performances, cameras, flashes, etc. however i was kind of dissappointed. i wished there had been something more exceptional, more meaningful, more memorable, something like what we had last time during sec 4 prom! however, i had a good time during prom with lifeguards and after prom with sb4 (although what we did was just walking and walking and walking!) (: haha at least i got to witness THE scene (someone held someone's hand!) :D

refugee-ish life: it was the worst part of 2008! but now come to think of it, it was quite interesting and it was amazing how i managed to survive! :D i am proud of myself!
hcmc trip: hochiminh city wasnt as nice as i thought! it was too noisy and polluted and crowded. nhatrang was better. it hadnt changed much since the last time i visited. as i've said before (i think!), this trip wasnt exactly what i always wished for, but it was something of 2008 that i'd remember!
sick: what a great way to end a not-so-great year! :D
those were the major events that took place in 2008. however, 2008 was more than just this! i'd remember more of those ordinary days when i just stayed in and had dinner in hostel with my friends, or nights when i could just talk to baby bear on the phone and whine for hours while walking along the corridor and watching stars in the mean time! so yeah that was my 2008? how was yours? (:
2009 is coming really soon! i wish for good health and happiness in 2009, as once i am healthy and happy, everything else will be attainable! bye 2008 and welcome 2009!
