2009!

so today is, again, the last day of a year. i cant believe that one whole year has passed. and since its the last day of the year and also the last day of the decade, i decided to continue the tradition which was started last year and write a post which summarised everything which has happened throughout the year.

JANUARY
i went to flower street with the dwarfs on the second day of the year. it was my first time being to a flower street. i also have never been to a flower market before! haha maybe next time we shall try going to a flower market instead. the day was just normal, but when i reached home, i had around 200 new photos!

i met up with the dwarfs again on the -th day of lunar new year to go to Văn Miếu (it is the first university of Vietnam which was founded a long long time ago) to pray for good A level results. i prayed for AAAAB and i really got AAAAB! how miraculous!

finally i spent a Tết at home after 4 years having to celebrate in sg! its always good to be around family, isnt it? (:

FEBRUARY
haheo's birthday! et made the birthday cake herself! haha she's really a good housewife! whoever is her husband must be a really lucky dude! maybe i should try asking her to teach me to cook some dishes and bake some cakes! i just suck at cooking! :( i also treated them with my first month salary! (oh yeah i worked for my aunt for one month and couldnt stand it anymore) :D

Hồ Gươm with banana on a random day. it was weird since we wore t-shirts in the midst of winter! i cant remember how the weather was back then, but i am sure it wasnt as cold as other years. haha maybe its the effect of global warming? :D roar i miss random shopping days with banana in Hanoi!

MARCH
went back to sg to collect A level results with banana. we reached the airport at like 2am in the morning and luckily we managed to contact loan. haha if not, we would have been 2 miserable homeless beggars!

we met up with lifeguards to swim in school before going to dover market for lunch and then heading back to school to collect results. my heart was beating really fast when the results were given out. when my name was called, i couldnt even walk properly! weeks later, we had a farewell lunch with neville for banana before she flew back to vietnam again. btw neville's macbook is really cool! banana and i camwhored to the max using his macbook! :D

APRIL
went to sentosa with sb4 one day before the guys enlisted. that was like the biggest class outing ever? oh no, actually it wasnt. we had one when 20/24 turned up after baccalaureate before! we flew kites, threw frisbees, and played some balls at palawan. we didnt really camwhore much, i dont know why! oh and then we wanted to luge but for some reasons, we didnt and i forgot why! :D

april was the month when i cried the most because someone was away and uncontactable most of the time! :( everyday when i called 9------6, all i heard was "the m1 customer you are calling is currently unavailable..." but somehow i just kept calling everyday! luckily those days are over!

MAY
working at shangri-la loyalty center was fun, haha much better than working at my aunt's company last time! i made more friends and they're all nice people. and i managed to survive on my own. you so must be proud of me! how can believe that a little baby could earn enough money to support herself right? (:

i miss days at 102 towner road, especially the period when ha, quynh, loan, szeching and i stayed together and lam occasionally dropped by for dinner. gosh i just miss all of them so much. i almost went to cambodia with them but then i had to cancel my flight. argh i wish i had gone for the trip! :(

JUNE
i went for lifeguards 4G dinner at michgwee's house before going back home. great time spent with great people! love you all lots! <3
back home again! and i finally managed to find a day when all of us were free to visit my secondary school form teacher. she hardly changed! and talking about those times when we were still young kids studying at NTT brought back so many memories! i havent seen some of my classmates for so long! we should have a proper class reunion in 2014 as its our 10-year-anniversary! :D

JULY
went k-box with chims! it was also our frewell party before banana went to the states and hang went to uk. i was sick on that day but despite my mom's warning, i still went out. haha we almost went boat-rowing at west lake! :D and the consequence was that when i came back home in the evening, i had a high fever and got poked by my mom! :(

AUGUST
farewell bbq to giang! meeting up with my batchmates after a really long time. although not everyone was there as we were all over the globe now, it felt good as if we were back to those 3 months in 2004. even though we are not that close, we still went through so many ups and downs together as a batch and i sincerely hope that we will keep in touch even years later! take care everyone! for those who are overseas, come back to sunny singapore to visit us sometimes! (:

SEPTEMBER
ha, szeching and i baked giant cookies for loan's birthday! the cookies looked cute and tasted great! (:

i cried on my 20th birthday for various reasons, one of which was that i received the BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT ever from my beloved friends who are currently in us, uk, canada, australia and singapore! (: reading through their messages and looking at the pictures in the little scrapbook they gave me brought back so many memories of the good old days when we were all together in nus high! :( i miss you guys a lot, really! i dont know when we're going to meet each other next time, but i am sure we are as close now as we used to be, or even closer, despite the distance, the different timezones, etc! yes i know i am loved, globally and i love you all too, 21st buddies!

OCTOBER
haha finally a photo in ntu! :D school was just, boring! projects after projects, presentations after presentations, essays after essays! up till now, i still dont like ntu! :( nah, lets not go there now! i just hope things will get better soon! i just dont know how soon, though!

NOVEMBER
we had a picnic at adm's rooftop for huizyi's birthday! it was so dark up there and we had so much fun screaming from the top of the building, scaring people away! :D

i had my first university exams in november too haha! (:

DECEMBER
after exams, we went to orchard with the intention to act tourist-y and camwhore there! orchard is getting nicer and nicer every year. so many things have changed. i have to admit that now i can easily get lost in orchard even though i go there quite often, given the fact that i stay in ntu! :D haha there was a week when i went to town 4 days in a row! i think at that time, i just couldnt stand staying in jurong anymore. i am still an orchard person after all! :D

had a mini outing with lifeguards too, as i couldnt plan a proper outing for everyone. i promise i'll do that when i get back to sg next week! i just hope you guys are free! :D

i've never looked forward to being home before. yeah, after months spent at ntu, being home was truly heaven! (: i went out with the dwarfs almost every week and random went shopping with pie. i just didnt like shopping in winter because there was hardly anything i could buy and bring back to sg!

we went to flower street again yesterday and gosh, i got caught by the police! :(

yeah, so 2009 began with a visit to hanoi's flower street and also ended there.

to be honest, i keep thinking that 2009 is my worst year ever, but is it really? i just read my 2008 post and i realised that i complained about 2008 being a bad year a lot too! and now, as compared to 2009, 2008 seems to be not bad after all! :D so maybe, next year or years later, i may think that 2009 was indeed an eventful year with a lot of new experiences.

yeah this year, i worked, hoped and played. "for those who work, hope and play, the best is yet to be." so maybe, my best is coming and 2010 will be an awesome year! :D
