you your yours yourself.

all of us belong to at least one particular social group, no matter it happens by birth, by chance or by choice. like when you were born and your parents filled in a particular country's name, say vietnam, to the field 'nationality', you automatically became a member of 'the vietnamese'. after that you grew up and your parents sent you to a particular school, for example scgs, and you automatically were classified as an 'sc girl'. then there would be a day when you graduate school and start working for a particular company, like sgx, you would be known as one of the 'sgx employees'.

most of the time, people associate us to one of these many social groups to which we belong. so without us even noticing, our words and actions are representations of members of our social groups and will dictate how others see us. indeed, how many people out there actually know you and who you really are? i'd say, less than 0.001% of the population. more often than not, people will refer to you as 'that vietnamese', 'that sc girl' or 'that sgx employee', like in the previous example. so maybe you might want to consider behaving yourself in such a way that will not disgrace your social groups?

now i understand why back in sc and ac, we were constantly reminded to behave properly in public when in uniform! (:
