9th NUS Invitational Lifesaving Championships

i woke up this morning and i realised that my lifeguards competition was like yesterday! then i just totally stoned! i didnt eat breakfast. neither could i do anything else. i just switched on my computer and looked through all the photos that we took through these 2 years!

oh noooooo its over! ;( no more training. no more applying sunblock together. no more warm-ups. no more sprinting. no more towing. no more underwater-ing. no more rope throwing. no more sun-tanning together. no more warm-downs. no more showering together. no more applying after sun lotion together. no more competition. no more counting down. no more.

we met in school at 8 to go for breakfast together. then we headed back to school for a final briefing by jeremy. he told us the usual stuff, but it still sounded as meaningful and touching as if we all heard it for the very first time. after some final checks on equipments, we boarded the bus to nus. we were the first team to be there! yay! =D

the other teams arrived soon after. they all looked so old and stressed and scary, unlike us, a bunch of happy people! =D

team acjc before marching in!

oh yeah meiqi came to surprise all of us! i was the only one who knew that she was coming. the rest were all shocked when they saw meiqi at the nus swimming pool! thanks meiqi!

obstacle relay teams A and B

haohao got injured after his 50m manikin tow. he was so much in pain and i couldnt do anything to help. heartless xiangun was like, "take picture of them since its memorable!" coach jeremy was super worried for haohao as he thought that his shoulder was dislocated. so he wanted jiajun to replace haohao in the manikin relay. but haohao was really determined. he said that he'd continue with his events no matter how painful it was! good fighting spirit!

i think this is a really heart-warming photo, although it looks a bit gay. those hands belong to jeremy and haohao.

thanks szeching for coming down to support us and helping us to get 'nat'. without you, quynh and i would be dead! i am sure you know why!

acjc flags

we had hand-over after competition. the new executive committee consists of kah lok, sandra, xinyue and jc. this is bad because kah lok and sandra, xinyue and jc will have affairs with each other and hence will not focus on cca-related stuff! and poor janice will be cheated on!

acjc lifeguards competition team!

team A guys (without wayne!)

team B guys (without Nic!)

team A girls (without Xueyuan!)

team B girls (the only team whose members were all present!)

so our season is finally over and we've stepped down. however, we still are one acjc lifeguards team! we didnt get any medals but anyways we did our best. most of us hit our pb. most of us managed to complete our events without getting any dq. all of us felt like jelly and couldnt even walk properly after we finished an event. we cheered our hearts out for each other. we were always there for each other when one was feeling stressed or when one was dying after an event or when one was ... camwhoring and needed someone else to camwhore with! =D

as jeremy said, "when you go to university and decide to join lifeguards again and compete in the nus invitational lifesaving champitionships or even the national lifesaving championships, always remember that you were once from acjc where you took up your first ever lifesaving lessons to learn all the skills and techniques and became an official lifeguard. you might compete against each other in the future, but always remember that you were once teammates!" yes of course i would remember that for life! how could i ever forget all these 4 months of intensive training that made us all become as black as charcoal? how could i ever forget all the fond memories that we've got together? how could i ever forget that i was in the same team with a group of wonderful people? i could not. and i would not.

the best is yet to be!
