30/9/2004 - 30/9/2012

if there's a special day that changes everything for each of us, that day must be 30/9/2004 for me. time flies and today is already 30/9/2012. during this short/long period of 8 years, a lot of things have happened and i'm thankful for every single thing that happened.

we make decisions. sometimes we can easily justify whether the decisions we make are good or bad (like the choice is obvious if you must pick either chocolate milk or strawberry milk). however, in other occasions, it is really impossible to tell whether we've chosen the right options (like the answer isn't too clear if you must choose whether boarding that SQ175 plane on 30/9/2004 was a wise decision) even with hindsight bias.

the 9th year is starting tomorrow, and i am still not sure how many more anniversaries there will be. but whatever the case, i promise my 9th year will be wonderful! (:

old couples.

i was taking my usual one-hour train ride back home after tuition, and i was 'accompanied' by a couple in their 60s-70s throughout the entire journey (well, we boarded and alighted the train at the same stops). the way they behaved towards each other (like how the husband scolded the wife for not drinking enough water today) suddenly reminded me of a quote seen on facebook newsfeed a while ago which was something like “a successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person."

and i started wondering whether that condition was => or <=>.

sing.

i haven't sang for so long, i miss singing my favourite taylor swift/ christina perie songs! ):

mentally tortured.

last night i had insomnia which, in normal circumstances, would have been no big deal because it happened on a rather regular basis. however, what made last night's insomnia different from other nights' was that it was accompanied by the unbearable feeling of anxiety (you know, like the weird feeling in your stomach) which helped me awake for the whole night imagining what could possibly have gone wrong.

worried, i called my mom early in the morning to check whether something was wrong at home and hearing her say that she couldn't sleep for the whole night because of the same thing totally freaked me out and made the both of us 10 million times more worried since something bad might have happened/ would happen everytime we experienced insomnia+anxiety at the same time.

remember the nightmare which rudely awakened me in the middle of the night not too long ago? yes, that was the first thing that came to my mind this morning and i burst out in tears almost immediately while still on the phone with my mom. paranoid mother and daughter then started contacting people close to our hearts to check whether everyone was fine.

fortunately, everything was and still is alright! (:

oops!

yesterday one of my classmates asked whether i have the answer for the tutorial question (or something along that line, i dont really remember the exact words because it is not the main concern here) and i replied her NO HAB!!! ohmigosh! >.<

bad sign.

you know something is wrong when your brother goes to town every weekend while you are stuck at home doing housework, sleeping and/or working on school projects! >.<

housewifey cat!

i derive pleasure from doing housework.

when i woke up this morning, i felt so lethargic and all i wanted to do was to go back to sleep. however, i felt bad because i knew that i shouldn't pig my weekends away like i had been doing for the previous few weekends. so i gathered all my energy to drag my lazy self out of bed, and then carried all the books and notes to the living room, in hope that the hard wooden chairs would not do as good a job at making me fall asleep as the bed could. however, after a long while of staring blindly at these boring black-and-white pages of paper, i gave up and decided to do some housework, go grocery shopping and cook lunch instead. and guess what? i felt so much better!

haish i am such a housewifey cat!

out of sight ...

... out of mind.

or maybe it is the opposite.

travelling.

lessons
projects
tuition

imagine these are the only three stops in an mrt line. just like how the train spends so much more time getting from a station to another, rather than stopping at each of the stations (well, unless there's a train fault of course), i've been spending a considerably greater amount time travelling between places rather than carrying out each of these activities. dont get me wrong here, i love the trains in singapore because they are, most of the time, clean, reliable and safe. as a result, i always zone out in trains thinking about random things or staring at random sceneries or observing random people, even though i keep telling myself that i should make better use of my time spent on trains.

haish but spending too much time on travelling drains out all my energy and i'm always lethargic at the end of the day (like now, i seriously dont feel like moving any part of my body at all). but hey, tuition is probably ending in a month and projects in two months and lessons in three months! who knows, i might end up missing taking 1-hour train rides after this semester is over! (:
